The FREE HOAX !

This weekend my Facebook

was bombarded by an influx of repost

like this :

FACEBOOK JUST RELEASED THEIR PRICE GRID FOR MEMBERSHIP. $9.99 PER MONTH FOR GOLD MEMBER SERVICES, $6.99 PER MONTH FOR SILVER MEMBER SERVICES, $3.99 PER MONTH FOR BRONZE MEMBER SERVICES, FREE IF YOU COPY AND PASTE THIS MESSAGE BEFORE MIDNIGHT TONIGHT. WHEN YOU SIGN ON TOMORROW MORNING YOU WILL BE PROMPTED FOR PAYMENT INFO...IT IS OFFICIAL IT WAS EVEN ON THE NEWS. FACEBOOK WILL START CHARGING DUE TO THE NEW PROFILE CHANGES. IF YOU COPY THIS ON YOUR WALL YOUR ICON WILL TURN BLUE AND FACEBOOK WILL BE FREE FOR YOU. PLEASE PASS THIS MESSAGE ON IF NOT YOUR ACCOUNT WILL BE DELETED IF YOU DO NOT PAY

some of the repost even had "artwork" that you need to post so you will not be charged

I know that people mean well when they repost and warn us about "facebook life changing" things

BUT ...

I don't think that FB think tanks will SHUDDER with fear when they see our FB pages turning blue?

Facebook is NOT a charitable institution ... it is a BUSINESS !

They will NOT RISK losing a gazillion users just to earn a few millions

(for those who decided to stick around even with the charges)

FB makes a lot of money from the ads viewed by and clicked by its active users.

They will generate more money by staying FREE

Besides even if I decide to pay for my FB membership

but will not have any FB friends

because they opted not to pay

WHAT'S THE POINT OF FACEBOOKING?

They will not even dare to think of charges especially now that

their rival GOOGLE+ has been launched

And if someday Mark Zuckerberg decides to let us pay

no matter what time of day or even if all our pages turn blue

or how many times we post and repost

HE WILL CHARGE US. PERIOD.

Our world is already crazy as it is

and Facebook is my break from the craziness

so I hope that FB reposts will not be a source of

panic and worry for us active FB users

It is YOU that I am interested in

not some repost hoax that will create an

upside down world

post your pictures of great adventures, of fun times

post your feelings of happiness, sadness or fear

post your funny or sad anecdotes

post your Zynga game achievements

10 Cents CRV ... What A Deal !!!

Woohoo ... finally a car I can afford !!!

hahaha ... SORRY that's too good to be true !

But still our topic today is about CRV ... but not the car!

I went to Smart & Final last Saturday ...

while waiting for my turn to pay ... the old lady in front of me bought

3 packs of water

the total amount of her water purchase was

MORE THAN WHAT SHE EXPECTED

 so she asked the cashier for an explanation

the cashier told her ... it's because of the CRV

the lady asked the cashier to explain to her what a CRV is

and why is she paying for it

SADLY the cashier can't explain to her what CRV is

So the old lady left without purchasing the water

WHAT IS CRV ANYWAY

 AND

 WHY ARE WE PAYING IT?

CRV stands for California Refund Value

The Department of Conservation (a branch of the EPA that is in charge of the CRV program) defines CRV as

 "the amount paid by consumers at the checkout stand

 and paid back to  consumers when they recycle eligible

 aluminum, plastic, glass and bi-metal beverage containers

 at one of California's more than 2,100 certified recycling

centers."

How much EXTRA do we have to pay?

Don't be sad over this amount

YOU WILL GET IT BACK .... IF ...

you bring those containers to the
RECYCLING CENTER

BUT ... not every container are qualified for a
refund ... only the ones marked with

CA CRV

CRV is paid on the following types of beverages:

• Carbonated and noncarbonated water
• Carbonated and noncarbonated soft drinks and sport drinks
• Coffee and tea drinks
• Beer and other malt beverages
• 100% fruit juice in containers smaller than 46 fl oz

CRV is not paid on the following:

• Milk, white or flavored
• Medical food
• Infant formula
• Wine
• Distilled spirits
• 100% fruit juice in containers 46 fl oz or more
• 100% vegetable juice in containers more than 16 fl oz
• Products not in liquid or "ready to drink" form
• Products not intended for human consumption
• Containers not made of glass, metal, or plastic

Remember next time you pay for that water or soda ...
that EXTRA CRV ...

• encourage recycling
• discourage littering
• generate revenue

The Cinderella In Me

I love (designer) shoes !!!

BUT ... who doesn't?

I collect them ... although a few already got donated

since my hubby Joseph said I have to keep my shoe collection

under ______ (sorry i can't divulge the number ... hahaha)

And for ages I have been wrecking my brain on how to

justify my shoe shopping/collection

Then ... one day ...

 I came across a quote ...

I loved it sooooo much I made a poster for it.

coz I already got one.
